The Fun Spirit is Alive (and spreading) at Westridge

by Elizabeth J. McGregor, Head of School

I talk a lot about the sense of joy on our campus.  Our girls and their teachers make learning fun, which I think is a critical component of education.  But that sense of play doesn’t stop with those who are on our campus each and every day, as demonstrated in the photo posted here.  The photo shows Upper School Science Teacher Ryan Skophammer surrounded by the parents of his advisees who conspired to “dress like Skop” for back-to-school night.  They donned the thick, dark-rimmed glass, collared shirts, and maroon or green pants (if they had them) that are signatures of Ryan’s wardrobe.  This amusing gesture sums up the joyful, quirky sense of fun that enlivens us as a community – and I love it!
