7th Grade Cultural Studies and 8th Grade Human Development Teacher
B.A., Ethnic Studies, Mills College
Gigi Bizar joined Westridge in 2005 after receiving her teaching credential from Mills College, a women’s college in Oakland where she also earned her B.A. in Ethnic Studies. Currently, Gigi teaches 7th Grade Cultural Studies and 8th Grade Human Development at Westridge, and serves as a head class advisor and the head of the Westridge Water Warriors. During Interim Week 2018, she traveled to Kenya with the Water Warriors to witness firsthand the clean water infrastructure the Middle School Water Warriors helped to fund. Gigi also works as an educator on the International March of the Living, which is an annual educational program bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. She lives with her musician husband and 9-year-old daughter Izzie, who is joining the Westridge Class of 2027.
