Tour our new Learning Commons!

Photos from the grand re-opening:

The Joan Irvine Smith ‘51 Academic Resource Center was recently transformed from a more traditional library into a dynamic learning commons. This effort is the result of several years of conversation among faculty, students, our library and technology teams, library design experts, and architects.

What is a Learning Commons?

Learning commons are today’s expanded vision of libraries. While still home to books and places for quiet study, they have evolved to support current styles of learning and studying, which include more collaboration, content creation, and technology.

We also added new features!

  • Covered outdoor study patio
  • Dedicated Lower School area
  • Interactive touch screen panels with collaborative learning system
  • Flexible seating configuration

Thank you for your patience as we grow and evolve our campus to meet the learning needs of the next generation!
