Katie joined Westridge in the fall of 1999. She is the current Art Department Chair and faculty advisor for the Gay Straight Alliance on campus. Prior to coming to Westridge, she worked at CalArts as a teaching assistant for the Freshman Foundation Class and as a Visiting Artist Coordinator from 1997-1998. She served as the Director of Exhibitions and Programs at Side Street Projects from 1998-1999, and was an Adjunct Faculty member for Large Format Photography at Santa Ana College from 2000-2002. Katie is also the owner of Soil and Root Garden Design, creating edible and sustainable designs for residential and business gardens; she designed the native garden outside of Westridge's Pitcairn building and created special plantings for Westridge's Centennial. Her previous occupations include working in Sacramento, CA as a chef for Espresso Metropolitan Bistro and catering in the Capitol for State Assemblymen from 1992-1995.
