Ryan Skophammer, Ph.D.

Ryan joined Westridge in 2013 following two years as a visiting assistant professor at Whittier College, where taught college writing and lower and upper division biology classes, including Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology and Evolution, Molecular Genetics, and Bioinformatics. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral researcher and visiting scholar at University of California, Riverside. Ryan’s research has been published in leading science journals including Molecular Biology & Evolution, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Systematic Biology, Proceedings of the Royal Society B and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. In addition to teaching at Westridge, Ryan is assistant coach to the cross country, JV soccer, and track and field teams.
