On Saturday, November 9, the Westridge Latin Club participated in the annual fall Latin convention, Southern California Regional Amici Madness (S.C.R.A.M.)!

This year thirty Westridge Upper School Latin students attended the event, held at Sage Hill School in Newport Coast. There were a total of 683 Latin students from 30 schools from all over Southern California who participated in academic testing, Certamen (similar to a quiz-bowl), recitation, and various workshops (like Roman graffiti, mosaic-making, Classical Kahoot!, and a scavenger hunt).

Westridge had several students win awards in academic testing, recitation, and Certamen: Gillian H. '22 (3rd place Advanced Grammar); Isabel C. '23 (2nd place Open Certamen; 3rd place Level I Derivatives); Hailey T. '23 (3rd place Intermediate Sight Reading); Corina D. '21 (1st place Advanced Reading Comprehension; 3rd place Advanced Daily Life); Mirelle L. '21 (2nd place Advanced Reading Comprehension; 2nd place Advanced Derivatives); Isabella K. '23 (1st place Level I Grammar).

Congratulations to all S.C.R.A.M. participants!
